Breast lift and augmentation

Breast lift and augmentation surgery with implants, known as mastopexy with augmentation, combines two procedures: Mastopexy (breast lift), in which excess skin is removed and breast tissue is repositioned to correct sagging and improve the shape and position of the breasts, and Breast Augmentation, in which implants are placed to increase volume and improve breast projection.

During the first few days, you will notice swelling, bruising, and tenderness. Rest and avoiding raising your arms are recommended. In the first few weeks, you will need to wear a post-surgical bra and restrict strenuous physical activity. The final result will become visible after a few months, when the swelling subsides and the tissues settle.
This procedure is ideal for women who wish to restore firmness and volume to their breasts after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss.

The surgical procedure requires general anesthesia. Depending on the degree of sagging and the amount of volume desired, the incisions may be periareolar (around the areola), vertical (areola to the inframammary fold), or anchor or inverted T (when more correction is needed). The implant may be placed under the pectoral muscle (submuscular) or under the breast tissue (subglandular), depending on the patient's anatomy and goals. Lifting and reshaping involves removing excess skin and repositioning the nipples and areolas to a more elevated position. The incisions are closed with internal and external sutures, and bandages or a post-surgical bra are applied.
